Schedule

Parents,

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for being such great fans the other night. I thought we had a great home-field advantage, that helped us win the football game. Obviously, it was a great game, and we were so proud of our guys. I’ve been told by several people it was the greatest football game they have ever seen, and people watched it on TV in New York, Virginia, Alabama, etc. It was a great night for our entire school and program. We had a lot of adversity but our guys fought through it all, and just found a way to win. They have come a long way in a year. Evangel actually had more starters back than we did this year so we were mostly the same teams from last year. Our program has taken some hits over the last few months, but what I keep telling people is that our kids work extremely hard and they are very committed. That starts at home with you and I want to thank you for that. Our program would not be successful without support from the home. It is an honor to coach your sons, and I think they are learning a lot about life with all that has gone on.

Remember that we have a coaches TV show that comes on every Tuesday night. You can watch it tonight @ 9:00 p.m. on Family 45, which is channel 21 on Cox cable. Also, all of our games will be replayed on Thursday nights @ 9:00 p.m. on the Jones channel, which is channel 22 on Cox cable. Supposedly, our game with Evangel is going to be replayed on Fox Sports Southwest, so we will let you know if that is going to happen.

We are playing Tulsa Lincoln Christian this Friday in another huge game. They are currently ranked #1 in Oklahoma, and are a very well-coached team. Last year, we beat them 14-7 and they went on to have a 12-2 season, losing in the state semi-finals. They have a great team and it's going to be a tough game. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Be here early for another great night of football.

Practice Schedule –

Tuesday – 3:00 – 6:00 – coaches TV show starts @ 9:00 p.m. on Family 45, which is channel 21 on Cox cable
Wednesday – 3:00 – 5:45
Thursday – 3:00 – 3:45 – Practice, then go to Noodles @ 4:00 for team dinner/devotional, replay of Evangel game on Jones Channel @ 9:00 p.m.
Friday – 7:30 kickoff, guys need to be at school by 4:45

This Week

Parents,

Just wanted to remind you that this will be the last week of summer workouts. The guys will not have to be up here next week for weights, but we are encouraging them to do some physical work during that week. We’ve had a great summer of strength & conditioning and we don’t need to lose it.

Our 7 on 7 season is over, but I thought we had a great summer. We ended the summer with a 25-5 record in all 3 of our tournaments. The last two weeks our guys played extremely well, going 20-2, and winning the Southwest Elite 7 on 7.
Practice begins on August 3, and we will send out a detailed practice schedule later in the week. Thanks for all of the help during the 7 on 7 season with drinks, food, etc. It is much appreciated!

Summer Schedule

Parents,

Hope everyone is doing well. Things at Shiloh are going great! Our guys have been working extremely hard in the weight room the past several weeks, and are seeing some great gains. We have a lot of guys that are involved in track & baseball so they are staying busy right now. Last week, Ken Freeman spoke at our chapel, and we had a few guys accept Christ as their Savior so that was an awesome deal as well! The Lord is doing some great things in our school, and I’m excited about the leaders we have on this team for next season.

The summer schedule will be mailed to you this week so you should have your calendar soon.

Right now, we have right at 60 guys on our team. As far as 7 on 7 tournaments go, we will have to limit those to only 20-25 players, depending on the tourney. We have more than 40 possible skill players so we will let the guys know as soon as we can during spring practice if they will be participating in those tourneys.

Last thing, we will have spring football practice from May 18-29. This will be after all of the other spring sports have concluded. We will practice every day, and will end it with a spring game that last day. We will probably have a parent meeting at that time to discuss the summer schedule and anything else.

Thanks for all that you do and for believing in Christian education here at Shiloh. Please be in prayer for our girls basketball team as they make a run at a state title, starting this Friday in Pine Bluff.

I hope you can be there to honor Nick and his family.

Parents,

Just a reminder that our 2008 State Championship Football Celebration has been changed to Saturday, January 17. It will begin at 5:00 p.m. at The Church @ Pinnacle Hills in Rogers. The banquet will cost $10 per person, including athletes. This is to help cover the cost of the meal. We are not selling tickets, so you will just have to pay at the door. We will be honoring all football players and cheerleaders from grades 7-12. Thanks and I hope you can be there to celebrate a great season!

State Championship Week!

Parents,

Well, it’s great to be playing for the State Championship again this year! We are very blessed and thankful to the Lord for this opportunity. It is great to see our guys’ hard work since last January pay off for them. Please encourage your guys not to take this for granted. Some of the guys on this team are going to be playing in their 3rd consecutive State title and that is not normal for most high schools. We are playing a tough Pine Bluff Dollarway team that lost in the state title last year as well. So both teams will be very determined to come away with a victory on Saturday at noon.
Notice that we will have a pep rally on Friday night at 8:00 @ The Sports Authority parking lot. This is the same place we had it last year. It is located right down the street from the hotel on Chenal Parkway.

Our seniors have done a great job this season, and this is a great opportunity to honor them on Friday night.
